White Rock Cafe in NRH is doing everyone a favor by running specials all week long. Every day of the week has two specials, which is super generous of them. Monday just stood out a little bit more this week.
Violet and I were starving, and it was a Monday morning. Scene set. So like most cheap asses in the world, I googled specials around me. I've made a point to eat more locally when dining because I now have this blog. I can't help but feel hypocritical every time I eat fast food or a major chain, but nothing will keep me away from Taco Bell or a triple dipper.
Anyway, we googled and we were directed to White Rock Cafe in NRH. Good job to the SEO team over at White Rock, they really did their thing on that one. Now, breakfast is usually a safe bet with Violet, someone has to majorly fuck it up for her not to like it, but when she said these were the best eggs she had ever had, that left an impression on me.

Kids talk a lot of shit right? Everything blows their minds, but she wasn't lying; these eggs were solid. She's a bit of a weirdo and likes her eggs over easy instead of scrambled, but who am I to judge? I enjoy horror movies before bed. 🤷♂️ We had to get a waffle, which they substituted no problem, because Violet doesn't like pancakes. She made a solid choice, though. That waffle was decadent and as fluffy as they come. Bacon was tender yet crispy, and hash browns were golden to perfection on top and savory in the middle. Everything was perfect. The fruit was so fresh and ripe, you can tell they QC their produce because it was on point and honestly it's easy to fuck up fruit. It turns quickly, I get it, not an issue here though.
If you haven't caught on, Violet and I split this, and we were both full. Now don't be a cheap ass, if you decide to do this tactic with your +1, tip at least 75%! Bonus points for tipping 100% :).

All in all, it's hard to fuck up breakfast foods, right?
Wrong, places do it all the time.
Thank goodness this wasn't one of them, though. This was a hidden gem that is right down the street from me, and I can't wait to become a regular. They have a full bar for the day drinkers, the menu is LOADED with food options, and they have specials every day. There is no reason this place shouldn't be packed full before long. Go try it out before all the hipsters take it over.
